Mickey Mouse Mondays! – DCP Prep Part II

Happy Monday everybody! Before I get started, I just want to give a huge shoutout to the month of January which is officially known as National Mentors’ Month! This is the month for not only thanking your parents for guiding you, but also your teachers, your tutors, your professors, your therapists, or anyone else who you consider a mentor. And now, it’s time for the best part of the week…MICKEY MOUSE MONDAY!

Now the Disney College Program starts in only a few short weeks for me, and to celebrate, I started a series last week called DCP Prep. I made two different long sleeved shirts that cost me only $5 to make instead of ordering them for $45 apiece. Click here if you missed it!

But now for Part II, in which I discuss some of the biggest Disney Do’s and Don’ts of the College Program. Mainly the Do’s…cause what part of Disney would you NOT want to do? Let’s consider it the Disney College Program New Year’s Resolution List of Quillegible Awesomeness! (Or DCPNYRLQA for short ;))

I always thought Disney Meet and Greets were awkward, but after hearing so many wonderful stories of meeting Disney characters, I figured what better resolution to start off my list than to start meeting more characters more often? True, I’ll technically be working with the friends of these characters, and I may even know them personally when I see them, but greeting them could be magical in its own way.

I officially turned 21 last summer (and that was definitely a magical celebration!), and drinking around the world at Epcot is a famous pastime for adults who love Disney (or for adults who have been watching the kids all day). Plus, with other DCPs who are 21 or over, drinking around the world can be a celebration worth remembering!

I’ll admit…I’ve always been camera shy. I never considered myself very pretty and therefore whenever my mom whipped the camera out for some reason, I never really enjoyed being the center of attention that way. However, since I’ve started working out, I’ve started feeling more comfortable with myself and I would love to have a photo session at Disney World for potential job interviews, college graduation, and/or just for fun, just to say I did it. I don’t know about you, but I can’t imagine a better background!

Speaking of working out, RunDisney has 5ks which are perfect for noobs like me! If there ever was a time to do it, it would be this year. Dark Side 2017, here I come! (Side note: who should I dress up as? Hit me up and let me know! I’d leave to hear from you!)

Bet you didn’t know you could parasail on Bay Lake! You did? Oh…well…I didn’t. I’ve never been parasailing before (and I will admit after seeing the third Jurassic Park movie as a kid, can you blame me?), but being able to see Cinderella Castle and the rest of Disney World from a bird’s eye view? How can you say no? It’s a once in a lifetime experience that lets you see a whole new world (sorry not sorry).
This is only a small portion of my DCP bucket list that I really want to do while I’m in Florida. If you are going to be in the DCP or you were in the DCP, what is something you would recommend doing? Hit me up and let me know in the Contacts page, on Facebook, or on LinkedIn! Meanwhile, I’ll be waiting impatiently for January 30th…it can’t get here fast enough.
